Trans Autobiography, Anthropology, and Photography

By mixing and juxtaposing different “authoritative” gazes towards trans people—photography and anthropology—with the autobiographical gaze of five participants, (de) les Trans does not seek to present a standardized or unified vision of trans life. Rather, we seek to highlight both the similarities and differences between the experiences of each person, while at the same time questioning the supposed authority of the scientific and artistic gazes.
